You may infer from this post that it is now too late to add a vote. The cape design will change as soon as Tam and I get out of this forum and actually log on to the game.

Please note: if you did not specify a second choice or just repeated your first choice for your second choice ("1: A, 2: A" for example), only your first choice vote was counted. I suggest everyone try to pick a second if at all possible just so that it is easier for us to clarify in case of a tie--which we did technically have this time.

Data Analysis (WARNING: The following section contains MATH.)

You may be wondering why I had the second choices at all, and how I was planning on analyzing them. And truth be told, having the second choices can both muddy and clarify the voting system. In this case, it clarified: since D & H both received the same number of first choice votes, the fact that H had 3 2nd choice votes and D only had one made it apparent that H was the clear winner.

If the results had been "D: 6, 0 & H: 5, 2" (which they could have been if Legion had inverted his choices), things would have gotten a lot more muddy. There are a variety of different ways of handling 1st & 2nd choices (weighing them all the same, weighing a 1st choice as two votes and a 2nd as one, etc), but this is what I would do in the future should the situation become complicated:

1st choice votes are weighted at 5
2nd choice votes are weighted at 3

In this case, our voting result this time would have been:

H = 34
D = 28
E = 16
I = 14
G = 9
J & F = 5

In the theoretical possibility of "D: 6, 0 & H: 5, 2" the results would have been D = 30 and H = 31, thus making the winner H, but in "D: 6, 1 & H: 5, 2," the results would be D = 33 and H = 31 and so D would be the winner.

Hopefully, this clears up any questions the more analytical types may have had, and completely obscures all understanding in everyone else.
